EliteBook 8540w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I currently know the BIOS password for the 8540w, but would simply like to disable the need to enter it every time the laptop restarts.  How do I disable this in the BIOS setup?

Welcome to the forum @rdjohnsonjr

Power-on and start tapping the " esc " key or " F10 "

Go to the BIOS.

Then under SECURITY disable all passwords that are Enabled.

Save and Exit.

I went to the Security section but there is not an option to disable all passwords.  I can change a password, but it cannot be left blank.  There's also a Password Policy, but that doesn't apply either.

Under the System Configuration section, I have an option "Restore Security Defaults".  I wasn't sure what that does, so hesitant to go any further with it.

Any suggestions?
