Hi,

i have an Elitebook X FLip G1i and cannot get my HP tilt MPP2.0 to work with it. I have tried updating drivers - even tried installing  the old HP pen control, but nothing seems to work. I see there is a WACOM AES2.0 driver installed, but understand that's not compatible with MPP 2.0. There is also an HP compliant pen driver installed and active, yet the pen doesnt seem to register o nthe screen.... and yes, the pen is fully charged.

@martinw10000000, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the HP Elitebook X FLip G1.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!

Using an HP Tilt MPP 2.0 Pen with an EliteBook x360 may indeed pose compatibility issues if the device is primarily set up for Wacom AES technology. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

  1. Verify Pen Compatibility:

    • Check the HP support documentation to ensure that your EliteBook specifically supports MPP (Microsoft Pen Protocol) pens. If the laptop is originally designed with Wacom AES technology, MPP pens might not work without additional drivers or settings adjustments.
  2. Wacom AES vs. MPP:

    • If your device is equipped with Wacom AES, try using a pen that supports this technology to verify the touchscreen functionality.
  3. Uninstall Conflicting Drivers:

    • Go to Device Manager and uninstall any non-essential pen or touch drivers, such as the Wacom AES driver if you wish to test MPP functionality. Reboot your laptop afterwards.
  4. Check for System Updates:

    • Ensure that Windows is up-to-date as it might provide necessary drivers or compatibility updates.
  5. BIOS and Firmware Updates:

    • Check if there are any BIOS or firmware updates on the HP website for your laptop model that address pen compatibility issues.
  6. Test on Another Device:

    • If possible, test the HP Tilt MPP 2.0 Pen on another compatible device to ensure the pen itself is functioning correctly.

I hope this helps!

Take care and have an amazing day!

I amtryingto find out if the HP EliteBook X Flip G1i 14 inch Notebook Next Gen AI PC is compatible with the HP TILT MPP 2.0 tilt pen. Please do not give me information on the HP Rechargeable Active 3G pen as the two pens are not the same. If my laptop is compatible with the Tilt MPP 2.0 pen, what is the name of the HID driver that should be installed so that I cna check if it is there or not.

PS. The TILT MPP 2.0 does NOT have a bluetooth pairing button while the 3G does....they use different technologies. and protocols.
