Hello.

Someone sold you a laptop that has now been reported as stolen. There is no way out of this except typing the recovery key.

The previous owner - most likely a corporation - enrolled your laptop into Computrace. Only the person or organization that enrolled the computer can mark it as stolen and remotely freeze (and wipe) the computer. No-one else can freeze your laptop remotely.

Either please contact the seller for help or a refund (!), or call the helpdesk phone number showing on the screen. The original owners are the only ones who can help in un-freezing your laptop.

The original owner may have sold the laptop in good faith but someone there may think it is stolen and therefore marked it as lost/stolen and that's why your computer is not working anymore.
