Hello.

The laptop should power off if you keep the power button pressed for several seconds. Alternatively you can unplug the laptop and let the battery deplete but this may take hours.

Is this a daily problem? Can you use your computer at all?

Hello.

The black screen is probably caused by badly behaving device driver or a software.

Try updating your HP software and drivers with HP Support Assistant. If you don't have it already installed, you can download it here. Once installed, use the update function to update everything.

Are you using Windows 10 or Windows 11?

Did this problem start after Windows Update or software installation?
