I purchased the HP spectre X360 it is a nice looking machine but it has always had the habit of doing things on its own ranging from opening other programs, deleting files being worked on and numerous otherunexpected strange things on its own,
This is not a dependable computer.
In the past I used the LenovoThinkpads and have never experienced anything similar.
This HP is a real shocker as it is very unpredictable and unstable as it seems to have a mind of its own.
When working with docs I also experience many times when the mouse cursor is a few lines away from the location that I click. The only way to fix this mouse disalignment is to turn the computer off and on again.
It is unfortunate but Im already looking at the ThinkPads

Hi @AnoyedUser ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing with your HP Spectre X360. It sounds frustrating.
here are a few troubleshooting steps you could try to address the touchpad issues on your HP Spectre X360:
Update Drivers: Make sure that your touchpad drivers are up to date. Go to the HP website, locate your laptop model, and download the latest touchpad drivers.
Windows Update: Ensure that your Windows 11 is fully updated. Sometimes, system updates can include fixes for hardware-related issues.
BIOS Update: Check if there's a BIOS update available for your laptop on the HP support website. Updating the BIOS can sometimes address hardware-related problems.
Touchpad Settings: Adjust touchpad settings in Windows 11. You can do this by going to Settings > Devices > Touchpad. Experiment with different sensitivity settings to see if it improves the behavior.
Disable Touchpad Gestures: Some erratic behavior might be caused by unintended touchpad gestures. Try disabling certain gestures to see if it makes a difference.
Run Windows Troubleshooter: Use the built-in Windows troubleshooter to identify and fix potential problems. You can find this in Settings > System > Troubleshoot.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
