Product: HP ZBook Power G7 Mobile Workstation IDS Base Model

I need help on resetting the admin password for the UEFI on my HP ZBook Power G7 Mobile Workstation that I got second hand from CeX. I would like to be able to reset the password for this device. Thanks.

Unfortunately, no one can help you with that problem.

 

If you can return the notebook, I would do so immediately.

 

We can't help you for two reasons:

 

1. HP no longer will supply the SMC.BIN file that is needed to clear the BIOS password.

 

This is HP's current policy for PC's with BIOS passwords...a motherboard replacement is required.

2. The HP Community Forum's Rules of participation prohibit anyone from helping with such matters.

Never buy a HP PC with a BIOS password because nothing can be done to clear it.
