Hi:

Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates the max memory is 2 x 8 GB if your notebook has an Intel Core processor.

HP ProBook 440 G4 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide

I believe that the notebooks with the Pentium and Celeron processors only have one memory slot that supports 1 x 8 GB of memory.

If your notebook has an Intel core processor, you can run this command to see if it would be possible to install more than 2 x 8 GB of memory:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

If you find the notebook supports 2 x 16 GB of memory, I recommend two of these:

Crucial RAM 16GB DDR4 3200 MHz CL22 Laptop Memory CT16G4SFRA32A : Amazon.in: Computers & Accessories

If it only supports 2 x 8 GB, then this one should work:

Crucial RAM 8GB DDR4 3200MHz CL22 (or 2933MHz or 2666MHz) Laptop Memory CT8G4SFRA32A : Amazon.in: Co...
