Hi! I was planning to send in my laptop for repair because the camera and microphone no longer work. Ive tried everything, system restores, driver updates, resetting, it doesnt work. I was wondering, because my laptop was wear and tear (' and ] key fall off, scratches on laptop) will it be rejected for repair/replacement?

Hello @nath4nn,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

HP may refuse free warranty repair only if:

There is liquid damage

The laptop shows impact damage (bent frame, cracked palm rest)

There are signs of unauthorized repair

The camera/mic failure is caused by physical damage you caused (for example, crushed lid or broken hinge affecting the camera cable)

From what you described, this does not apply.

If your laptop is still under warranty, they will assist you with the repair.

✔ Your repair will not be rejected due to cosmetic wear
✔ Camera/mic failure is a covered hardware issue.

Hope this helps.
