Hello.
I recently updated my Zbook Fury G9 BIOS U96 to 1.15.00 with HPHWdiag. A few days later my BIOS got corrupted and led to replacement of motherboard on warranty.
The new motherboard BIOS had the older 1.13.00 version from Dec-24 installed, so even though i was very wary I used HPHWdiag to update directly to 1.15.00 (May-25) yet again, which went fine, but (!) without installing the previous 1.14.00 (Feb-25).
Now I discovered that U96 firmware version in device manager is only at 1.13.00 which i believe was updated by Windows update in January after the December BIOS update, so I was wondering why it hasn't been updated as per BIOS version. Aren't they related?
Then I booted into BIOS to check it's update feature. And to my supprise this feature found an urgent update 1.14.00 (dec-24) and asked me to proceed with what in fact would be downgrade to previous version. I did not do that.
The latest Security Bulletins from HP advices to install 1.15.00 and some even 1.14.00.. I guess those recommendations are about minimum versions to install..
So my questions are:
-Does anybody else have issues with 1.15.00?
-Does that 1.14.00 version I skipped have some firmwares or patches my machine now are missing or might it be something wrong with 1.15.00? (Why else does HP server want me to downgrade? Or can't it be trusted to have the newest BIOS available??)
-Should I do the downgrade to 1.14.00 and then update to 1.15.00?
-And shouldn't the system FW in device manager be at par with BIOS?
Machine works fine BTW. But I got very-very wary from the BIOS crash in May..
Thanks!
