Zbook 15 G3
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello Community!

I bought a used Zbook 15 G3. This is without a camera but the "hole" for that does exist.

Is it possible to upgrade an original camera in and what things do i need exactly?

Or is it because of BIOS and other hardwareproblems impossible?

I hope someone can help me!

With kind regards

Lutz

Hi,

It should be possible.

Are you sure you have the hole for the webcam?' (there will be a small hole for the microphonr)

The models which did not come with webcam have Bezel part number

For use only on computer models not equipped with a webcam       part number 848241-001

page 39 service manual

So, you might need to replace the Beze if the hole is not present.

Bezel with webcam part number

and you will need the webcam module

Webcam/microphone module (includes double-sided adhesive)          part number 848264-001

On page 39 and 41 you can see the steps to install the module.

Hope it helps,

Hello David!

It worked!!!! The cable from the motherboard was there and i only had to connect the camera.

Thanks for your advice!!!

But now there is another problem.

From a friend i got a Thunderbolt 3 dockingstation (HSTNN-CX01 P/N 841830-001). But this is only recognised as USB-C dockingstation.

I had a look into the drivers on the support web but there were quite a lot of drivers and firmware for that dockingstation.

What drivers/firmware should i install and do i have to change something in the BIOS?

Thnks in advance for help!
