ProBook 4530s

I have this old ProBook laptop that is quite slow on windows 10, and I would like to install Ubuntu 21.04.

I have installed Ubuntu using USB (Rufus, MBR - BIOS, or UEFI), but the problem is ubuntu GRUB loader is not showing up after installation. Strangely, it works only on the first boot, which I guess is kind of restart with removing installation media.

I have tried using Boot Repair Disk, but it's giving a confusing error.

But fortunately, it works for Lubuntu 20.10 desktop.

But, I would like to try Ubuntu on this laptop.

Please let me know if you need any other information, and thank you for all your help in advance...

I'm sorry, but HP does not provide support for Linux distros.

IF you replace the preloaded Windows OS with a Linux distro, or add a Linux distro, then you assume full responsibility for maintaining that -- including solving any problems with booting the other OS and/or installing the other OS.

Modern PCs with UEFI, instead of the older BIOS, are especially difficult to install because you have to go into the UEFI settings and make several changes before you can even boot from a USB stick -- and we are unable to assist in that work.

Your best bet for support now is to contact the support forum of the distro you are using.

Since you are using Ubuntu, go here: https://ubuntuforums.org/

Good Luck
