Hi there,
I'm hoping you guys will be able to assist with an issue I'm having with an EliteOne 840 G9.
When unboxed and powered up, the integrated Camera is present and works just fine. I've run a Windows Update and Driver update using HP Support Assistant, and now the webcam show in neither the Device Manager not the anywhere else.
Thinking this would be a driver issue, I've visited the HP Support site (https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-eliteone-840-23.8-inch-g9-all-in-one-desktop-pc/model/210162...) and there aren't any drivers show anywhere for the WebCam. I've reset Windows to factory, but still no webcam software.
I've followed various guide which tell you to go into device manager, show hidden devices, etc, and no Camera.
I've checked the WebCam shutter, no change. I've tried the keyboard hotkeys, no change.
I've tried everything I can think of to prod this into life, but nothing.
There is a device in Device Manager called "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed), which I assume to be the Camera, but again, no drivers from Windows Update nor the HP Support site seem to address the issue.
Ordinarily, I'd call HP and asked for a replace due to being DOA, but I've did this with this already, and this is the second unit with the same issues, caused by doing the same things. Am I not supposed to run Windows Updates on it? Not update the Firmware etc?
I'm out of ideas. Any thoughts would be welcome 🙂
Thanks in advance.
