I have Windows 11 and I'm trying to update to the latest version of Remote PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI tool (v10.5.0.0) which is the current version on the HP Support site for download. After downloading the software, I get the following error when I start the update as Adminstrator: "Error 2753 - The file "installer.exe" is not marked for installation." This error usually means the file is not marked as compatible with the latest Windows operating system. Is this HP tool compatible with Windows 11? If yes, why am I getting this error? I want to run a battery calibration and I need to update this tool!

Hello.
According to the release notes, it is compatible with Windows 11.
I do not know why you cannot install it - perhaps the download is broken - but do you actually have use for the Remote PC Diagnostics tool? It is a tool usually used in company networks to gather diagnostics data logs into a central repository.
You can run the same hardware diagnostics with the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI tool. Here's direct download link to latest version.

Thank you for your reply, Jupitero! I mistakenly added the word "Remote" to my subject. The tool you recommended is the tool I previously downloaded. That said, I did try again using the link you provided and downloaded the update. I still get the same 2753 error. Note, when I download the tool from the link you provided, it says the tool is compatible with Windows 7, 8 and 10 for 32bit Windows, but doesn't mention Windows 11. Also, I'm running a 64-bit version of Windows (Windows 11 Pro). Is the link you provided good for 64 bit Windows?
FYI, the reason I'm trying to do this update is I'm trying to calibrate the battery. I keep getting the error in the HP Support Assistant that my battery isn't calibrated. The HP support site says use the BIOS UEFI tool to perform battery calibration. The BIOS UEFI tool is an older version (I think its version 10.3.2.?). Thoughts? I have a EliteBook G9 840 laptop with HP Wolf Security.
I'm beginning to think HP Support Assistant is incorrect and I should just ignore the battery calibration error statement. Thoughts?

Hi again,
I just successfully installed the latest version, 10.5.0.0 over the older 10.3.0.0 version on a 64-bit Windows 11 laptop. So the SP152465.exe package is working the a4f47431d9f266ac671cb6643356b422 MD5 hash value also matches.
Your error message sounds more like a problem in Windows Installer Service itself, but hard to say what is causing it. Can you install other software just fine? Some serious googling for 'windows intaller error 2753' might be helpful.
In any case, your Diagnostics v10.3 is perfectly fine for the battery calibration. The "calibration" is actually only about running memory diagnostics in a loop on battery power until all power is depleted from the battery. Then you'll need to recharge the laptop fully before turning the computer back on.
The UEFI Diagnostics itself is Windows agnostic - the installer only copies the required diagnostics software files to your EFI partition and when you try to start the UEFI Diagnostics with F2 key your laptop tries to locate the diagnostics from there and then executes it instead of starting Windows.

Hi Jupitero, thanks again for your reply. I really appreciate it. So, this morning on the HP support site, I found that HP updated the UEFI tool to v10.5.1.0 (the version available a couple of days ago on the HP support site v10.5.0.0). I downloaded this newer version and it uploaded fine on my Windows 11 computer. My BIOS version of the UEFI tool is now 10.5.1.0.
Go figure...
