I'm experiencing the following issue on an Elitebook 845 G10 which is driving me crazy. Some keystrokes (shortcuts involving multiple keys or single key presses) don't register maybe 5-10% of the time. Happens only on battery power on Windows, Linux seems to be unaffected. Has anyone else seen anything like this?

I can reproduce this with the following steps on Windows and on battery:

In a browser with some tabs open, press ctrl and hold it down

Press tab or shift+tab while keeping ctrl held down to cycle through tabs, notice some presses don't register

The weird thing is I don't experience this issue with the default install of Windows that came with the machine (booted from the internal SSD that came with the laptop via an external SSD case). However, it happens on brand new installs of Windows with all updates applied and all recommended drivers from HP Image Assistant installed.

Anyone knows what else would be different between the HP factory image vs a fresh Windows install? I hope to avoid using the factory image, since it comes with lots of bloatware that I don't need.

I'm surprised to see my Reddit post copied word for word, I assume that means you are also experiencing the same issue?

Have you tried getting the keyboard replaced? I'm in the process of arranging that in case that's the issue.
