Welcome to HP Support Community, @Bilal211

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Sorry to hear you’re facing this issue. Since the problem persists even inside the BIOS,

Steps you can try:

Power reset

Shut down completely

Disconnect charger

Press & hold power button for 20 seconds

Reconnect charger and boot → Test keys

Check keyboard connector (if you’re comfortable opening the laptop)

Remove bottom cover

Locate keyboard ribbon cable and ensure it is properly locked & aligned

Reassemble and test keys again

Test with an external USB keyboard

If all keys work externally, the internal keyboard itself is defective

I request you to reinstall the operating system on my HP EliteBook 840 G3 using the USB bootable device method.

Requirement:

  • Install the OS by booting from a bootable USB drive, following the standard procedure using tools like Rufus or any approved imaging utility
  • Configure the system to boot from USB in BIOS/UEFI and proceed with the OS installation

You may prepare the USB using:

A USB flash drive of at least USB 8 GB or higher

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
