Keyboard very poor viewing with grey keys with grey writing

Keyboard on HP Pavilion x360 2 in 1 laptop 14-ek 1501 is disgraceful. Impossible to see the letters and numbers with grey keys and grey writing with no backlight facility. How on earth does this pass any sort of quality control process. Would never have purchased this had I known how bad this is. Going to have to go to additional cost of purchasing a keyboard when this becomes so clumsy to use.
