Hi @Toluxy,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your brand new HP Pavilion x360 convertible is not charging, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can follow to try and resolve the issue.
Check the Power Outlet and Adapter:
- Make sure the power outlet is working by plugging in another device.
- Check the power adapter for any damage or loose connections. If possible, try using a different power adapter with similar specifications.
Inspect the Charging Port:
- Examine the charging port on the laptop for any debris, lint, or damage. Use compressed air to blow out any dust that may be blocking the port.
Try a Different Power Source:
- Plug the laptop into a different power source to rule out issues with the power outlet.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Shut down the laptop.
- Disconnect the power adapter.
- Remove the laptop battery if it's removable.
- Hold down the power button for about 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the battery (if removable) and plug in the power adapter.
- Turn on the laptop.
Update BIOS and Drivers:
- Visit the HP support website for your specific model and download the latest BIOS and driver updates. Install them following the instructions provided.
Battery Calibration:
- Perform a battery calibration if your laptop has a non-removable battery. Check your laptop's user manual or HP support website for instructions on how to calibrate the battery.
Check for Physical Damage:
- Inspect the charging cable, adapter, and laptop for any physical damage.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
