Microsoft Windows 11

Hi

My Laptop "HP ZBook 17 G5" does not boot anymore after I upgraded the BIOS to Version 01.19.00 Rev.A.

Model: HP ZBook 17 G5
BIOS: HP Firmware Pack (Q70) 01.19.00 Rev.A

After pressing the Power Button the screen keeps black and the fans are turning high and then nothing happened.

Does anybody have a solution to this problem?

Thanks,

Marco

@mguma -- when you power-on the computer, it runs the POST (Power On Self Test).

Part of the POST speeds-up the fans, then detects the temperature of the motherboard & processor.

If the temperatures are "normal", then the fans are told to slow down.

So, the POST is "failing".

If you purchased the computer within the last 12 months, contact HP Support, to get HP to repair/replace your computer, at their expense.

The cause of the problem was, that the bios update didn't run completely till the end. The bios update restarts the system several times but unfortunately at one reboot step the bios setup routine didn't go on again.

With a bit luck and of course pressing F10 the bios update routine did go on and finished successfully and now the system boot's correctly.

Thanks,

Marco
