I have had this HP laptop for about 4 years. After 3 years it started to run very slow, I changed the drive and ram and the same thing all the time. So I went back to the previous parts. Is there anything I can do to make it stutter less or not at all? (It stutters, slow running bios, and system).

Hello @DomiDomino

Welcome to the HP Support Community !

Could you elaborate on your issue, especially the "slow running BIOS" ? Provide as many details as possible.

Capture a video using your smartphone/camera and upload somewhere, share link here.

If the problem is only in Windows, check these out and consider the steps:

Laptop and bios is lagging. I change a ram and hard disk and it didn't help

Hello,

Based on the video, your PC's CPU runs on 0.39 Ghz (approximately 390 Mhz) which is the reason for the extreme lagging. This is not related to the RAM (memory) or the SSD.

Have you performed any sort of hardware changes before the problem started ? If yes, please document any hardware changes or service events. Basically, since when you are facing this problem? Anything related to the battery ?
Does the issue persist with AC adapter or with battery or both ?

If you go to BIOS (F1 System Information) - can you please share your BIOS version ?

Alternatively, while in Windows, click on the Start button, type msinfo32.exe in the Search field and open the app.

Check the BIOS Version/Date on the right side of the screen.

Before the problem I changed the drive to another different drive, after a year I only noticed the problem, I went back to the original factory drive but that didn't help. When the crash occurred I also tried changing the RAM but that didn't help either. With the battery rather everything is ok. The problem with the processor occurs when the laptop is charging, when it charges in the docking station, and when it runs on the battery.

  • I estimate that the operating system has already been changed due to the drive replacement. You have reinstalled Windows (not disk cloning) ?
  • Have you tried to hard reset / power reset your device ? Here is how to do it >> https://support.hp.com/ee-en/document/ish_1997208-1551050-16
  • Try to reset the BIOS to factory default condition (apply the factory settings) and exit the BIOS saving the changes.

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, and if you are experiencing lag even outside the Windows environment (e.g., within the UEFI BIOS, before Windows loads), this may indicate a hardware/firmware problem with the device.

You might consider bringing the Zbook to an HP Authorized Service Center or partner for an in-depth diagnosis. Here's how to find one >> https://support.hp.com/emea_africa-en/help/service-center

Unfortunately, if the problem is confirmed to have hardware or firmware origin, the service center may not be able to perform hardware repairs on this model (Zbook 14u G5). Released in 2018, this model has recently reached the end of hardware service, meaning that original/genuine parts are no longer available for order.

Please, let me know how it goes.
