Hello,
I have a question with regards to the hp zbook power g8's compatibility with the Linux operating system. I'm interested in the hp zbook power g8, but I require Linux for my current workflow. Has anyone tried running a Linux distro on the hp zbook g8 power? How well does it run? Will it have an oem option to have a distro such as Ubuntu LTS preinstalled on that model?
Looking forward to your answers

Hello @JorkanoFaln
All Zbooks are compatible with major Linux distros. Some of them are even certified for Linux.
Based on my personal experience, all HP business class devices run Debian/*buntu based Linux pretty well.
HP usually does not preinstall Linux-based OS on devices (not counting specialized systems like ThinClients). I cannot comment on future plans.
As a general recommendation, you should use the latest kernel version. Should you experience any issues, try with -1 or -2 versions to latest. LTS ones are recommended.
You can check some details in this document >> https://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=4AA7-6280ENW
It still does not have G8 platforms (released recently) but the situation is somewhat similar to G7. Zbook Power G7 info is located on page 15-16.
Hope this helps. Let me know if any questions.
