Hello, I bought an HP ProBook 430 G6. I installed Parrot OS on it, and at first everything worked perfectly, but suddenly the PC shut down and wouldn't start. We diagnosed the problem, and the repairman said the hard drive cable was burnt and that the problem arose because I installed Linux. So we had to replace the part and reinstall Windows as the operating system! The repairman strongly advised against reinstalling a Linux distribution on the PC, but I saw in the documentation that the HP ProBook 430 G6 is compatible with Linux (which I need for my studies).
I would appreciate your advice. Thank you!

Hello.

You have lied to. Linux doesn't break hardware, and such thing would be huge news in the IT industry.

You can continue using Linux just fine.
