Windows looses open window positions after waking up from sleep. Upon wake, all open windows are consolidated on the primary windows display which is one of the external displays connected to the hub. I would just disable sleep mode or increase the time it takes for windows to sleep, but my organization controls this feature. I have admin rights to this machine if necessary, but need to find a fix that would work for all.
I'm using a new ZBook Fury and a G5 USB C Docking station with all 3 display ports on the dock (HP24ua).
I've searched all over and the closest similar thing I could find is this:
Prevent HP Thunderbolt dock from sleeping - HP Support Community - 8715350
The common thing here is we are both using ZBook Fury laptops. Others in my organization that use EliteBooks do not seem to have this issue.
I think it is due to the hub disconnecting / going to sleep before the ZBook? Maybe windows sees the hub going to sleep as a disconnection instead of sleeping?
Andy help would be greatly appreciated as I'm exhausted from reorganizing windows for 9 months now.
