EliteBook 850 G3
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have just obtained an EliteBook 850 G3 with a 500Gb HDD and would like to add an M.2 SSD for the OS.

Can you please confirm that only a SATA-3 M.2 2280 will be compatible. This is NOT the 15u workstation covered by the same Maintenance and Service Guide.

Assuming the M.2 has to be SATA-3 and not NVME, would the following models be compatible:

A400 Solid State Drive – 120GB–1.92TB - Kingston Technology

WD Blue™ SATA SSD M.2 2280 | Western Digital

Thanks for your help.

Model is HP EliteBook 850 G3 and the product number is L3D24AV

Motherboard is 8079 KBC Version 85.74

BIOS is N75 Ver.01.13

Please confirm whether or not an NVME M.2 SSD can be used in this model. Note that it is NOT the 15u ZBook Workstation

If the M.2 SSD must be SATA, please indicate if the WD and Kingston models referenced in the first post will be compatible.

Thanks.
