HP Pavilion 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop PC 15-ec2000 (2P6B1AV)

Hey, just wanted to see what is my maximum ram support on  my hp pavilion 15-ec2000nc
Cmd says its 32gb, but some internet sites say 16Gb
And if it does allow the 32gb option, which specific ram settings/speed i should be looking for?

You're very.

Yes, that memory should work fine, and it will run at 3200 MHz.

The manual for the older model series indicates that the memory will run at 2400 MHz, but that is the maximum speed the Ryzen 3xxx processors run the memory at.

The Ryzen 4xxx and 5xxx series processors run DDR4-3200 at is full speed.

Hi:

Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates that 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-3200 MHz memory is supported.

Hi:

HP has a policy of not updating the service manuals for newer models that are introduced to market.

Some of us asked HP to reconsider this policy but as of now, it will not be changed.

For example, the original model series was the 15-ec0xxx model series that came with AMD Ryzen 3xxx processors.

Then came the 15-ec1xxx model series with the AMD Ryzen 4xxx series processors.

The most recent model series is the 15-ec2xxx model series with the Ryzen 5xxx processors.

If you look at the model series' support page, HP has included the manual I posted as the reference for the 15-ec2xxx model series--the original one with the AMD Ryzen 3xxx series processors.

HP has no intention of updating the manuals to reflect the newer hardware.

2 x 16 GB of memory is supported, and you even confirmed that by running the Windows command to get the maximum memory report.

Some of the problems with this are that we can't help forum members find different motherboards used in the 15-ec1xxx and 2xxx model series, and we can't let them know what newer model Wi-Fi adapters are offered in the model series.

Some of these service manuals for the older models (not the 15-ec series) reference DDR4-3200 memory, but some of the newer models in the same series now have DDR5 memory, and we can't help folks with memory upgrade questions by giving them the manual since the original manual for the series shows DDR4 memory is supported.
