HP Compaq 8710p Notebook PC (RM255UT#ABA)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We have an HP Compaq 8710p Notebook PC that was recently reset (full wipe and reinstall of Windows 10 OS) using Microsoft's Windows 10 Installation Media Creation Tool.

The device works fine with installed Windows drivers but the device model and serial numbers are no longer being reported via our RMM tool. We know what the device model and serial numbers are. We just need them to be reported in our RMM tool in order to make extended warranty coverage available.

We checked the registry and the folder that should contain the following is not present:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Hewlett-Packard\HardwareDescription]
"ProductNumber"="xxxxxxxxxx"

Since the device is in a remote location - remote access availability is limited. If needed, this notebook can be retrieved for diagnostics and/or repair in our shop.

Any suggestions or ideas as to how to resolve this issue would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Hi Try - The Windows Management Instrumentation Service is running and I get the appropriate responses when I run the two queries in a CMD prompt.
