HP Recommended

i have a old PC almost 9 years old , an Elite X2 G1 that worked pretty fine till a couple of days back when i kept it down and returned to find heavy white smoke coming out of it. i quickly took it to my balcony and observed it . the smoke stopped after a few minutes , but the incident had caused the screen to be pushed out and damed the screen and the back. can i still report this incident to HP . is there a time line on how long PC's can be used
