I bought a brand new hp omen 16k0350nd gaming laptop and after one week of using the right cooling fan has started to make a rumbling noise similar to what I would describe as a worn ball bearing. I am totally dumbfounded by the fact that such an extremely expensive machine can fail in such a short amount of time and I honestly am speechless and don’t know where to begin addressing this issue.

From what I have been seeing on the forum I am not the only one with this issue and I’m already certain that this is a result of a hardware manufacturing fault of some sort.

I also see that hp is avoiding the issue by giving their customers the run around by suggesting that installing or upgrading drivers could possibly solve issues like this which is complete and utter nonsense.

I am very disappointed and even stressed out about this because I had to save for a long time a lot of money to be able to buy this expensive machine.

At this point in time I would like to know how I can address this issue and or if there is anyone that already has done so what route they took.
the machine has only been powered up for about a week and I already regret purchasing it.😔

Hi @Omen16k0350nd,

Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see that you are facing noisy fan issues with your OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop 16-k0000.

I suggest that you run an extensive system test by following the steps listed below:
1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
2. Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
3. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
4. From the main menu, click System Test and then click on Extensive Test.
5. Click Run once.
