OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-xd0000 (758R0AV)

I bought HP OMEN 16-xd0005AX (90L47PA) on 22-12-2023, but when I check warranty status it is showing start date as 19-08-2023 to 17-10-2024. How to resolve this? I also purchased 2 years ext warranty along with my purchase that is also not reflecting.

The warranty date on HP website is an approximation - HP does not know the exact date you bought the device unless you bought it directly from HP.

Your receipt from the shop you bought the device from is what actually determines the warranty. If you need to resort to HP warranty after HP warranty check status has lapsed, you are asked to produce a copy of the receipt. The receipt should include details such as product number and serial number.

When I was working for a HP authorized repair business (many years ago) HP used to calculate extra 3 months to the initial warranty starting from production date because the transit from the factory to the distributor and finally to the shop takes its own time, and your laptop could have been gathering dust for some time in the shop.

Also, depending on your jurisdiction (EU), HP may still be liable for fault even after the warranty lapses.

If you  bought the laptop from a store and they added the extra HP warranty, then the store is responsible for activating the warranty ("carepack"). It may take a couple days for HP to process the carepack and for the warranty check to reflect your purchase, so hold your horses and check next week. The warranty extension should also fix the start date to 22-12-2023.
