Hi, i've tried for mutliple days now to install windows to my newly bought laptop. Ive realised I need a RST driver but the one i found on HPs Drivers and softwares site does not work. I have tried intels own and a bunch of random drives that i have found online... but my computer never find any drives compatible with the hardware. Some places says to look for a f6 folder. But those are nowhere to be seen. If anyone could help me with this headache i would be so grateful.

You were right. There was no need for a RST. When i tried to install on my drive it said that the partition wont work. I got stuck on RST drives because that was the sulutions that showed when I searched at first.

The real solution was to delete the partition och and then install windows again without creating a new partition

Download windows to the "unallocated partition"

Sorry to bother you, and thank you

Please provide the exact model number or product number (ProdID), which you can find on the bottom cover of your notebook.

Generally, a notebook with an Intel Core 8th gen processor doesn't need Intel RST storage drivers unless it has Optane memory.

You mentioned "480 GB SSD 32 GB Grade A," Does this mean your model has an Intel 512 GB SSD with 32 GB Optane memory? If so, you need to supply IRST driver to the Windows installer.

Your model's HP drivers download page lists IRST driver(sp144910) that supports W10 and W11 23H2. It doesn't extract a 'F6' folder, but a folder named 'driver' contains Optane drivers and various storage drivers. I suggest you follow the steps below to see if this IRST driver will be installed.

1. Use a Windows installation usb drive created with Microsoft Media Creation Tool (an ISO file-based installation usb drives may cause errors during the IRST driver installation).

2. Download Intel RST driver from the link below. Run it as administrator and follow the on-screen instructions to perform the driver extraction.

3. Go to C:\SWSetup\sp144910. Double click the folder then 'src' and copy the 'driver' folder to the root directory of a Windows installation usb drive.

4. Connect the usb drive to the notebook and boot the system from the usb drive. When asked where to install Windows, click on Load Driver -> Browse -> the usb drive in the window that opens -> the 'driver' folder -> OK.

5. Check the window to display compatible drivers. if multiple .inf driver files are displayed, select one and click Next.

6. The storage drive may be displayed with partitions. Delete every partition to just see unallocated space and click Next to proceed the installation.

If this doesn't work, you may need to use HP Cloud Recovery software, but this tool is only available if your notebook came with Windows factory-installed.
