Hi @Baddiexx,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
We understand that your HP ProBook 450 G2 does not turn on and briefly shows three different light colors when the charger is connected.
Please confirm:
- Which lights blink, such as the charging light, Power button, Caps Lock, or Num Lock?
- What colors do you see?
- Do the lights blink in a repeating pattern? If so, count the long and short blinks.
- Are you using the original HP AC adapter?
- Does the charging light remain on when the adapter is connected?
First, connect the AC adapter directly to a working wall outlet, without an extension board or surge protector. Leave all USB devices and accessories disconnected.
Then perform a power reset:
- Disconnect the AC adapter.
- Remove the battery if it is removable.
- Press and hold the Power button for approximately 15 seconds.
- Reinstall the battery, reconnect the AC adapter directly to the wall outlet, and try turning on the notebook.
Specific Caps Lock or Num Lock blink patterns can identify a startup hardware or BIOS error.
If the notebook still does not start, try BIOS recovery:
- Keep the AC adapter connected.
- Press and hold Windows + B.
- While holding the keys, press the Power button for 2–3 seconds.
- Release the Power button but continue holding Windows + B.
- If the HP BIOS Update screen appears, allow the recovery to finish without interrupting it.
The BIOS recovery procedure applies when the notebook powers on but does not start, and the indicator lights blink.
Please let us know the exact light colors and blink pattern, along with whether the charging light stays on.
Take care and have an amazing day!
