Hi @Ale419

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand that your HP notebook won't turn on and shows a blinking power light next to the charging plug, it indicates a potential issue with the power supply or battery.

Here are the detailed steps to troubleshoot and attempt to resolve this issue:

Perform a Hard Reset

A hard reset clears the computer's memory without erasing any of your personal data, which can often resolve frozen hardware power states. Since your ZBook 14u G6 has a non-removable battery, follow these instructions exactly:

  • Turn off the computer completely.
  • Disconnect the AC power adapter from the laptop.
  • Disconnect all external devices (such as USB flash drives, memory cards, printers, scanners, or external hard drives).
  • With the AC adapter unplugged, press and hold the power button for approximately 15 seconds.
  • Plug the AC adapter back in.
  • Try to turn on the laptop.

Verify Your Power Supply & Connections

  • If the hard reset doesn't work, your battery may be completely drained, or there might be an issue with how the laptop is receiving power. Check the following:

Check the power cords: Ensure all cables are securely connected to the wall outlet, the AC adapter brick, and the laptop itself.

Verify the wall outlet: Unplug the charger and plug in a lamp or other device that you know works to ensure the wall outlet has power.

Inspect the indicator lights:

  • Check if there is a light on your AC adapter brick (if it has one) to confirm it is receiving power.
  • Check the light right next to the power port on your laptop. A blinking battery power light typically indicates the condition of the power supply. If the light is off or blinking improperly, the AC adapter might not be working correctly or the notebook system board might be damaged.

Use genuine parts: Confirm that both the power adapter and the laptop are genuine HP parts. Avoid using non-HP equipment.

Let it charge: If the battery was completely drained, keep the genuine charger connected securely for at least 20 to 30 minutes before trying to power it on again.

Hardware Error Codes

If the laptop begins to turn on but still fails to start Windows, pay close attention to the blinking lights on your keyboard's Caps Lock key. While an "always on" light is unusual, a specific sequence of blinks acts as a hardware error code to identify the issue:

  • Red Caps Lock blinks represent a major error category (long blinks).
  • White Caps Lock blinks represent a minor error category (short blinks).
  • Common errors include a corrupted BIOS (2 long red, 2 short white blinks), potential memory failure (3 long red, 2 short white blinks), or power system failure (3 long red, 4 short white blinks.
