Hi  @Missyharvey224

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that you have just received your HP EliteDesk Desktop Mini and there is no power light or response when you press the power button. Since you are new to desktop PCs, I’ll guide you through a few simple checks.

Could you also confirm the following?

  • Are you using the original 65W HP power adapter supplied with the computer?
  • Does the adapter have an indicator light? If so, does it remain on when connected to the PC?
  • Do you hear a fan, beep, or any sound when pressing the power button?
  • Does any light appear near the power connector or on the front of the PC?
  • Have you tested the adapter directly in another wall outlet, without an extension board or surge protector?

In the meantime, kindly try these steps:

  1. Disconnect the power adapter from the PC and wall outlet.
  2. Remove all connected devices, including the monitor cable, keyboard, mouse, USB devices, and network cable.
  3. With the power adapter disconnected, press and hold the PC’s power button for approximately 20 seconds.
  4. Connect the power adapter directly to a known-working wall outlet.
  5. Firmly reconnect the adapter to the PC. Ensure it is fully inserted.
  6. Connect only the power adapter and press the power button once.

You can also follow this official HP document:

Since you received the computer today, if it remains completely unresponsive after these checks, kindly contact the seller before opening the PC or attempting an internal repair.

I hope this helps.
