Hello:
My wife has a HP Pavilion g6-1a31nr Notebook PC that has been gathering dust. I have been working on it and updating the best I can. However I am at a place I think I need a BIOS update. Since this product is retired, I cannot find any information on what I need or how to get it. When I do a search, only used computer listings show up.
I do have Support Assistant and it states that the BIOS installed is F.06 which sounds pretty old to me, but I also realize this could be the last update for this machine. But I do the update section and it states that there are no updates.
If anyone can point me to where I can find more information about this machine, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks

Hi:
HP retired all support for your PC since it is more than 10 years old.
This reputable 3rd party website has the drivers you need for your PC including some BIOS updates.
HP Pavilion g6-1a31nr BIOS (driverscollection.com)
The latest one they have is F.49 with a release date of 30 Jan 2013.
There is one potential problem...the BIOS update files were written to be run on Windows 7, so I have no idea what will happen if you try to update the BIOS in W10.
There is no do-over if the BIOS update fails.
