Hi @Rob3656,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Experiencing issues with the HP USB-C Dock G5 after a firmware update interruption can be frustrating, but here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.
Power Cycle and Reset:
- Ensure both your PC and the dock are powered off.
- Unplug the power adapter from the dock and wait for about 30 seconds.
- Plug the power adapter back into the dock and power it on.
- Restart your PC.
Update Drivers:
- Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for the dock. You can usually find these on HP's official support website. Download and install them on your PC.
Check Device Manager:
- Open Device Manager on your PC.
- Look for any devices under "Network adapters" related to your dock.
- If you see any yellow exclamation marks or errors, right-click and choose "Update driver" or "Uninstall device" (followed by reinstalling the driver).
Verify Network Settings:
- Check your PC's network settings to ensure the Ethernet connection from the dock is recognized.
- Go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings.
- Look for the Ethernet adapter related to your dock. It should be listed there.
Test Ethernet Connection:
- Connect another device to the Ethernet port on the dock to see if it recognizes and connects properly. This helps determine if the issue is with the dock or the PC.
Factory Reset the Dock (if possible):
- Some docks support a factory reset option. Refer to the user manual or HP's support documentation to perform a factory reset on your dock.
By following these steps, you should be able to diagnose and potentially resolve the Ethernet connectivity issue with your HP USB-C Dock G5.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
