i was updating the firmware on my G5 Dock and the PC shutdown in the middle of the firmware update now the docks Ethernet port stopped working, Ive tryed to reinstall the firmware update, which updated fine. but ethernet port still doesnt work. Ive also tryed to install the drivers for ethernet on the dock. still doesnt work. any idea on what i can do???

Experiencing issues with the HP USB-C Dock G5 after a firmware update interruption can be frustrating, but here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.

 

Power Cycle and Reset:

  • Ensure both your PC and the dock are powered off.
  • Unplug the power adapter from the dock and wait for about 30 seconds.
  • Plug the power adapter back into the dock and power it on.
  • Restart your PC.

Update Drivers:

  • Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for the dock. You can usually find these on HP's official support website. Download and install them on your PC.

Check Device Manager:

  • Open Device Manager on your PC.
  • Look for any devices under "Network adapters" related to your dock.
  • If you see any yellow exclamation marks or errors, right-click and choose "Update driver" or "Uninstall device" (followed by reinstalling the driver).

Verify Network Settings:

  • Check your PC's network settings to ensure the Ethernet connection from the dock is recognized.
