I bought an HP laptop via Amazon US from Galaxy Link INC in October 2025 for my daughter, who needs it for work.

The device recently broke down, and my daughter took it to a repair shop because she urgently needed to use the computer.

According to the repair technician, the problem stems from the RAM modules, which he claims are not original parts; specifically, it is a 32GB TIMETECH module.

I would like to know if the technician is correct.

The seller refuses to issue a refund because the computer has not been returned to them.

Any thoughts?

Yes, I agree that the installed Timetec memory is aftermarket memory.

What many of these Amazon sellers do is to buy HP notebooks and then upgrade them with more memory and/or a larger storage drive.

I doubt that HP even offered a 32 Go memory module in the model notebook you bought.

Normally the maximum memory HP installs from the factory is 2 x 16 Go.

Timetec offers a limited lifetime warranty on their memory products, but the problem is that in order to submit a warranty claim for a replacement 32 Go memory chip, you have to submit a copy of the invoice for the memory purchase.
