I used to own and use HP products for a number of years. I have recently bought an older model (HP EliteBook 8460p Notebook PC) as a restoration project.
I can not believe that HP designed the HP EliteBook 8460p Notebook PC so you have to take the PC apart to replace the RTC !!!
The technical documentation also shows a different version of the PC to the model I have got. Nothing about this PC (its design, its documentation) gives me any confidence in the ability of HP to still build decent PCs.

HP EliteBook 8460p is a series of many different models/products. You need to know its model/product to find out. For RTC battery, all models use same RTC battery and they use SAME manuals

item (7) on page 29 shows part # for RTC battery.
Regards.
