Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all,

I have a question about connecting two displays via a thunderbolt dock to an ProBook 640 G4.

I have the following situation:

I have a HP ProBook 640 G4 and a Thunderbolt G2 Dock (120W).

I want to connect to external displays via the Thunderbolt dock and I want to have both displays reach a resolution of 2560 x 1440.

The DP ports on the displays are already blocked by another pc and I got only one HDMI port left on every external display.

Now the question:

Which ports of the dock do I need to connect via adaperts to the HDMI ports to get both displays with the resolution of 2560 x 1440?

The spec. of the Hub is shown here (Link), but I am not sure which displayport version the probook has and which combination from the table would be possible and would be the best.

Thanks a lot in advance

The specs of your machine is

      https://support.hp.com/lv-en/document/c05950919#AbT7

It has

(1) USB Type-C connector (charging)  which is NOT a Thunderbolt port
(1) USB 3.1 Gen 1 (charging)
(2) USB 3.1 Gen 1
(1) HDMI 1.4
(1) VGA port
(1) RJ-45/Ethernet port
(1) Headphone/microphone combo jack
(1) AC power port

No other information for USB-C port but I believe it is a DP 1.2 or DP 1.3 port.

From page 17 of the following document

For DP 1.3, you can get two 2560x1600 @ 60Hz. Do your monitors support HDMI 2.0 ? If yes, you can use DP to HDMI (2.0 or above) cables to connect.

Regards.
