I ordered them directly with HP (from the Netherlands). https://parts.hp.com/

Well I think the bezel will fit, but in my case the existing bezel would cover the camera, (see the picture I posted earlier). Although from the inside it looked like it was camera-ready, there was no way I could see through the bezel at the location of the camera.

I briefly considered drilling a hole in the bezel, but I'm glad I ordered a new one, since its more than a hole, the 'camera-bezel' has a small glass or solid plastic 'window' at the top, which also protects your camera module from direct contact..

Mine looks like this after removing that little black blind cover. Wasn't yours the same?

Thanks, I realize that that is indeed the same as mine. I didn't recognized the blind cover as removable.

I didn't realize this earlier, so I bought a new bezel for 25 EUR. The benefit of a new bezel is that it comes with an additional glass / solid plastic cover at the camera spot. But I think you could leave it like you have it now. At least it will save you some trouble completely removing the bezel, since there is quite some adhesive strips around the sides and the bottom of the bezel.

Please note that the mic module itself is glued to the back-cover as well, so you will need to work a little bit to get it removed.

Well, I decided to go for supposedly better quality and had  ir-hd cam hardware with replacement cable installed nicely. Everything functions as used to. However, Device manager does not recognize the camera at all.

It could be that the motherboard does not support this type of cam since there was no cam initially??

Did 720p cam plug and play?

What is your zbook model?

Mine is 6TU91EA

I'm sorry to hear that. I have no experience with the IR camera. The 720P camera worked plug and play on my ZBook 15 G6 (6TU88EA) replacing the default mic part. I've changed the modules in two laptops from my colleagues succesfully as well.

I finally managed to sort this out: here

In summary: it is also possible to upgrade/retrofit a zbook g6 with build-in IR HD webcam w/ facial recognition.

Hey, Zbook15G6User! I am looking for those 2 parts, also. Could you tell me where did you find them?

HP Recommended

You can find them at HP's official spare parts channel https://parts.hp.com/

Oh, thank you! I missed that on your earlier post! Thank you all for sharing this!
