Hi @fundoorohit,

Thanks for sharing the details.

It sounds like your MacBook is having trouble connecting to your HP Smart Tank 660/670 series printer, resulting in the printer being paused or disabled. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

1. Restart the Printer and MacBook:

  • Turn off the printer, wait for about 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  • Restart your MacBook to clear any temporary issues or conflicts.

2. Check Printer Connection:

  • Make sure the printer is properly connected to your network if using Wi-Fi or to your MacBook if using a USB cable.
  • If using Wi-Fi, ensure that both the printer and the MacBook are on the same network.

3. Clear the Printer Queue:

  • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your HP printer from the list.
  • Click "Open Print Queue" and delete or cancel any pending print jobs that might be causing the printer to pause.

4. Reset the Printing System:

  • Open System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click (or Control-click) in the printers list and choose "Reset printing system."
  • Confirm by clicking "Reset." This will remove all printers from your list and reset the printing system.
  • Re-add the printer by clicking the "+" button, then select your printer from the list and follow the prompts to add it back.

5. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Go to the HP support website and download the latest printer drivers for macOS 14.1.
  • Install the driver and restart your MacBook.
  • Check if the printer is still paused or disabled.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

  • Sometimes, printer compatibility issues are resolved with macOS updates.

8. Check Printer Status and Resume Printing:

  • Open the Terminal (Applications > Utilities > Terminal).
  • Type the following command to check the printer's status:

9. Ensure Printer is Set as Default:

  • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click on your printer and select "Set as Default Printer."

10. Check Energy Saver Settings:

  • Make sure your printer is not going into a sleep mode which causes the connection to be lost.
