I think I got our computers to start behaving. I downloaded the latest audio Driver form HP and unpacked it. Then I went to device manager and told it to look for the driver in the C:\SWsetup\SP84712 folder. Been running for 5 days with multiple sleeps and the processor will drop below 10% when I quit touching it now. Much quieter on the fan too. Should be on the 9.0.180.10 driver when done. As always YMMV.

I don't think that is the problem. I have laptop only with SSD and problem with a System process in the thread ACPI.sys is alive.
I tried some power options from this thread, renamed Flow folder, updated all drivers using HP SoftPaq, but get nothing.
Intresting that problem not arises on each wake up from sleep or gibernate, but sometimes. Also I have issue with high CPU after shutting down and normal start sometimes too.

I wonder how long it will take for HP to address this issue (or at least send a message that someone is dealing with this).
I'm now testing Spring Creator Update as an Windows 10 Insider and I can confirm that the problem still persists.

After updating some drivers, with help of HP India support (they were fantastic to work onscreen & online with) I learned how to read the Event Viewer - it showed ALOT of CRITICAL occurances in the OS (operating system flo) - I recommend everyone learn how to use it - just type EVENT VIEWER in the lower left finder/search button. Apparently ERRORS are ok, depending what they are 😉

But more important question is if the support were able to solve the problem. My support (ticket escalated to L2) recommended me to change mainboard. I'm tired with the issue persisting couple of month. I spent much time to find the solution - no success. I decided to try changing the mainboard. In the next days, it will be more clear if the issue is kind of HW failure.

Same frustrating problem for me.
I've tried solution of reinstall conexant audio driver but problem still persist.
The only workaround is to rescan hardware changes...untill next cpu pump 😞
In my company we have 3 laptop 450 g5, only one have this trouble.
HP please solve this problem!!

Thanks for replying - my action was easy - this was a NEW purchase for me & as I was installing the programs I need, the BlueScreen of Death (BOD) started occuring, even on reboot. So I sent back. But I was optimistic and kept ordering the same model back - ALL 3 had exact same problem, some worse than others.
What a waste of time. Is yours a new purchase also? It laptop already works like this, what will it be after several years of use ???

To people with BSOD's problems. Try to download Intel Support Assistant (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/intel-driver-support-assistant.html) and scan for driver updates. I had some problems with the Intel UHD 620 and this helped me.
