I am trying to setup a ProBook 650 G8 to wake on LAN.  When I go to the network adapter in device manager and click 'Change settings' there is no Power Management tab.  So I cannot check the option to 'Allow this device to wake the computer'.  Is there a way to get the Power Management tab to show or is there another work around to enable Wake on LAN for these notebooks?  I have 2 and the problem exists on both units.

The article recommends turning off 'Fast Startup'  the option was already turned off on this notebook so that is not the issue.

Thanks for trying.

Hi @G-Veld

Read this article and try to apply the 2 registry changes per this article -> here <-

Disclaimer -> The article is not an official HP or official Microsoft articlle or suggestion. Disabling MSB is not officially supported by Microsoft <you will not find any official instructions from Microsoft about thht> and it might potentially cause other issues in future, if something changes by Microsoft, for example. However, if you apply these changes and reboot your system, the Power Management tab should eventually show up.

Thank you this worked for getting the Power Management tabs to show.  However I still cannot get the notebook to Wake on LAN through a docking station.  I asked that maker of the dock and they said the issue was in the PC BIOS.  When the notebook is powered off the NIC lights on the dock go off so it seems there is an issue.  I've gone through every setting on the dock NIC and BIOS I can think of with nothing helping.

Hi @G-Veld

Ensure that Fast Boot in BIOS is not enabled.

Check these 2 articles and follow the steps in them

Make sure you follow all the steps.

Probook 650 G8 has a built-in NIC. Does WoL work with the built-in NIC device ?
