Dear HP Support Team,

I hope you are doing well.

I am currently using an HP EliteBook 840 G7 notebook PC and have been studying its internal thermal design. I am a high school student (16 years old) with a strong interest in computer hardware and thermal engineering. I am writing to inquire about the feasibility and warranty implications of a proposed custom cooling modification.

My concept involves an external liquid-cooling loop consisting of an external reservoir and radiator. The loop would circulate coolant from the external tank into custom cooling blocks interfaced with the CPU and VRM components, and then return the coolant back to the external radiator.

Before proceeding with any experimentation, I would like to formally ask:

  1. Would any form of external liquid cooling integration automatically void the device warranty?

  2. Are there any structural, electrical, or safety constraints within this model that would make such a modification inherently unsafe?

  3. Has HP ever supported or tested external cooling integrations for this chassis platform?

If such a modification were ever considered permissible, I would only proceed under proper supervision and in accordance with official safety guidelines. My goal is to explore engineering concepts responsibly while respecting manufacturer design limitations and product safety standards.

Thank you for your time and clarification.

Kind regards,
[Your Name]
