  • The keys 4,5,r,t,f,g,c, and v do not always work. Its weird, i can get them to work temporarily if i press 4 and 5 in order. But after a bit they all stop working again

The location of these keys, on the keyboard is also interesting, they run across the middle of keyboard.

Hello.

This sounds very much like a hardware problem. Run the HP Diagnostics UEFI tool and test the keyboard there as well to ensure this cannot be software problem.

If your laptop is under warranty, contact HP to have it serviced.

Outside of warranty you can also try opening the laptop and reinserting the keyboard data cable. If that does not help, your next course of action is to obtain a new keyboard and replace it. Your laptop model support page has a Maintenance and Service Guide document, which shows how the keyboard and its cable are serviced, along with keyboard model numbers for you to order the correct part.

You can always ask for HP or HP authorized service centre to have the keyboard replaced if you are unable to do it yourself.
