I have a HP 205 G6 and I want to increase the ram memory from 4gb to 12gb.
I purchased a MUSHKIN MES4S213FF8G18 8GB SO-DIMM DDR4 PC4-17000 2133MHZ ESSENTIALS SERIES
- type: DDR4 SODIMM
- memory: 8GB
- voltage: 1.2V
- Speed Spec: PC4-17000
- freq: 2133MHz
- Timings: 15-15-15-36
and I am not sure if it's compatible with the ram installed on the device.
( Link for the ram installed is here: https://www.skhynix.com/eolproducts.view.do?pronm=DDR4+SDRAM&srnm=HMA851S6AFR6N&rk=30&rc=module )
Could you please help???
One more question, does it make an impact which slot has which ram?
Thank you!

You can use CPU-Z to check existing RAM on your machine then buy same brand, same specs or use known compatible RAM on the following link
Why 12GB ?

Thank you very much for replying! Actually I have downloaded the software (that is why I know exactly the ram memory in my notebook) and checked the crucial's advisor recommendations. The frequencies on the rams and the speed are different, so I decided to remove the 4gb and use the 8gb.
I thought why not having more memory space because I purchased an 8gb ram but 8gb is sufficient.
Thanks again for the tips!!!
