Hello Jaydee94.
If you're talking about the CT2K8G4SFRA32A kit listed as compatible for your system on the Crucial 450 G8 page, then unfortunately I have to inform you that the "SFRA32A" modules come in different versions, and some of these -although supposedly guaranteed compatible- won't work with some HP systems. In your case, I think that the offending modules are the 1Rx16 SFRA32As. Unfortunately there's not much you can do. As one of the more experienced EXPERTS often repeats, you can't make incompatible memory modules compatible. Try to return the problematic modules, contact Crucial directly if the reseller won't help you. You can also try to exchange these modules with the 32GB Crucial modules "CT32G4SFD832A" -they are NOT SFRA32A and will work as they should.
Post back if you have more questions!

Hello Jaydee94.
As mentioned above, if you upgrade to 2x32GB of Crucial RAM you'll be fine. These modules are of a different, older, and much better quality type, and have been used for years on the 450s with no problems whatsoever.....
If you insist on the 8GB modules, then any good quality 1Rx8 cl22 RAM module will work. The problem with Crucial is that the modules, with lower than 32GB capacity, come in various different versions....so some will work and others won't. Personally, I use Kingston RAM -depending on what it's for I use the gaming modules or the KCP "guaranteed compatibility" modules. Since you've already had a bad experience with your upgrading efforts, I suggest you find the KCP 1Rx8 RAM that can be seen on Kingston's page for the 450 G8. The cheaper (ValueRAM) equivalent is the KVR32S22S8 , which is also much easier to find in most countries. It does lack the guaranteed compatibility though.
