I installed the first 2 executables.  When I got to the BIOS update, it came back with the message that it was trying to install an older version of the BIOS.  I stopped at that point since I wasn't sure if that would be a problem.  Please advise.  Thank you.

I've attempted to do that over a week ago, but the choices don't include the version of Windows that I'm using.  The choices are:  Windows 11,  Windows 11 21H2 then 22 H2 and 23H2.  I'm using Windows 11 25H2 (OS Build 26200.9168).  Should I use one of the other versions?  Is there somewhere else to look for BIOS drivers.  I'm getting confused.  Thank you for your patience.

Hi @Lolly10

Thank you for responding.

I understand that the OS version is not available. I recommend selecting Windows 11 as the operating system and proceeding with the BIOS update. If you receive a prompt indicating that the BIOS version is older, please bypass the prompt, install the available BIOS update, and then check whether the issue is resolved.

OK. After the first pass of updating the BIOS, I received an error message that the Firmware had a UPD write error 3.  The PC restarted and then told me to restart again.  I did and there were no more messages. Do I need to do anything else at this point, or just use the PC normally and see if this problem persists?  Thank you, once again.

Hi @Lolly10

Thank you for responding.

I’m glad to hear that you no longer see the error after restarting the unit. I recommend monitoring the device to confirm whether the issue persists, and please get back to us if you experience the issue again.

Unfortunately, it just happened again.  What's next?

I am sorry to hear that the issue persist. I would request you to contact the nearest service center for assistance, if the device is out of warranty, it may incur charges: https://support.hp.com/in-en/help/service-center

You previously mentioned that installing those drivers that I have done would help you to identify if a particular driver caused the issue.  Is this still true?

The previous HP responder also suggested that I analyze the bug file and then post the following sections: bugcheck, module_name, image_name, and failure_bucket_id.  Should I send this info to you again?

My PC just went out of warranty on 4/8.  I wouldn't have thought I'd have these problems with a comparatively new PC.  Please let me know if there's anything else you can help me with.  Thank you.
