Microsoft Windows 11

Hi, I have an HP EliteBook 845 G8 (Ryzen 7 5850U) that has a BIOS/Administrator password set, and I don't have the password. I am the owner of the laptop and would like to know the official HP-supported procedure for resetting or removing it. I can provide the serial number and proof of ownership if required. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, for problem with passwords you will need to contact an HP agent.

  • Sign in to your support page
  • Select the product you need help with and scroll down to support options.
  • Select "Contact us". You can change country and language if necessary.

Here is HP's official policy regarding BIOS passwords:
HP Business PCs - Forgotten or lost BIOS password | HP® Support

According to the Community's Rules of Participation:

4d. No posts shall include instructions or directions intended to bypass or subvert security measures, including passwords, locking mechanisms, fingerprint scans, etc., or to bypass any safety measures.

You need to contact an HP agent and explain the problem, or take the PC to an HP authorized repair center.
