HP ProBook 650 G2

I've owned a HP ProBook 650 G2 for a long time.  It's time to upgrade.   I am really happy with this model and would like a suggestion of a similar model.  Would like some advice   I have tried googling and overwhelmed.

Thanks (I'm in SYD Australia if that is relevant)

G'day,

You need to consider your use case, really. What do you like in that Probook and what do you use the computer for?

The looks have changed a lot since that G2, but start with Probook models at HP website. Probook 600 line is discontinued, they're all Probook 400 series now. The model numbering is rather simple to decode - 440 has a 14" screen, 450 has a 15" screen and so on. If the number ends in 5, such as 445, then it is an AMD model; 0 means it's based on Intel CPU. Current generation is G11 but you may find occasional G10 models still for sale.

HP has a page telling the difference between the Probook and Elitebook models.

Zbooks are one step up from Elitebooks; high-end models with even more powerful CPU's and graphics.

Some things to consider:

Laptops do not have optical drives anymore, nor physical touchpad buttons. The pointing stick is also gone - if you were into that sort of thing... Network LAN port is also missing in most laptop models. Your laptop model was the last one with a physical serial port as well. All of these can be implemented with external USB devices though, except that pointing stick.

If your replacement query stems from Windows 10 losing support, but the laptop otherwise satisfies your needs, you can postpone buying a new computer by paying Microsoft an extra fee to get updates for one extra year.
