Hi HP family, I would like to mention a solution to a recent problem I experienced. After upgrading from win 10 to win 11 (fresh install) i noticed that the fingerprint reader and the SD card reader on my laptop was not working (HP Envy 13ah) everything else was working correctly. I opted to install the HP support app to install latest drivers, but it just kept saying that my system drivers were already up to date. I could see in device manager that there were problems with PCI devices, so obviously driver issues.
After some research I learned that there are optional driver updates in windows update. Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Optional updates > Driver Updates.
I selected all of them and after downloading + installing + restart, everything was working.
