I have been checking the Driver Update link for my system, patiently awaiting the Spectre, Meltdown  security BIOS firmware patch.

I have also been checking the HP Spectre, Meltdown Security Bulletin for an update. The Security Bulletin lists an update; sp85232 (version 01.15).

The lastest BIOS update offered on the Driver Update link  is version 01.08.

I cannot find any "read me" notes on the sp85232 update v01.15. Does anyone know if this update is "released" and recommended or is it a BETA?

The HP advisory was revised (it does often) and the probook 470 g4 bios update is listed with the new bios

HP ProBook 470 G4 Notebook PC
01.15
SP85232

HP released a security bulleting to address that here:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05869091

There is a new Security Bulletin that addresses the "Derivative Side-Channel Analysis Method" that can be found here:

I work for HP. However, all opinions and comments are my own.
